The weather in Cleveland has been so nice the past few days that I decided to take advantage of what little sun we get and work on some side projects.
I’ve been really into feathers lately and wanted to incorporate some into my wardrobe. I made myself a new charm necklace and a hair clip out of some feathers from the craft store and some found gems.
I also wanted to test out some new watercolor pencils I purchased. I finger-painted a fun background and as I was getting ready to draw some flowers, a storm came and ruined the fun. Hence the sad faced clouds over the city. You can see some images below.
I’m working on some new content for my blog and an updated design for the site. Until I figure out what I want to do. Check out my facebook page for updates.
I haven’t been posting because I’m updating my blog page. Please be patient, new content coming soon!
Bill and I just got back from our trip to the AZ to visit Erin. We had a really amazing time. We traveled practically all over the entire state. Sedona was by far my favorite place. The redrocks were gorgeous. And we were able to have a nice lunch overlooking the cliffs. And it was so nice to see blue skies the entire time we were there.
We spent a good amount of time driving from place to place which was fine because the landscape was so different than Ohio. We also checked out the Phoenix Museum of Art. The museum itself was beautifully constructed but the exhibits fell a bit flat. Their 19th century European Art collection was pretty impressive. I got to see my first Frida Khalo in person. They also had a really great contemporary exhibit created by local artists. Other than that, their permanent collection was a little boring.
We spent alot of time visiting local shops and galleries and even picked up a few pieces of original art. One of my favorite places was Red Hot Robot. A tiny vinyl toy store located between a record shop and a 50s style candy shop. I bought myself a Tokidoki shirt.
Now that I’m back I plan on working some more on my Etsy site and getting some cards and invites up for sale. Keep an eye out for updates.

I came across this amazing silkscreen artist the other day while I was looking for prints for my new apartment. Not only are Dan McCarthy’s prints creative and have wonderful subject matter, but a lot of prints glow in the dark. What could be better? Some of his prints even appear to be different when the lights go out. Most of his prints are in the 40 dollar range, but they tend to sell out quick. For $350 you can join his print of the month club and receive a limited edition print in the mail each month. And it’s worth it. Each print is unique and gorgeous to look at. If your interested in original prints I recommend checking out his site.

My new website is up and ready to go. Thanks so much to Bill Coughlin for all of his help in getting my site online. He provided all of the coding and tech support for the site. Please feel free to comment about what you like or don’t like. I would love all the feedback I can get!
I’m not sure if it is because this winter was so long or that I was super stressed this past semester, but these past few weeks I cannot get enough of nature. I’ve been hiking, biking, and frolicking in the park when ever I get the chance. I’m not usually big on being outside, but I think something’s changed.
I’ve noticed that over the last few months I have been unusually obsessed with birds. It seems that my last couple of purchases and designs have been bird centric, a few necklaces, a shirt, a painting, and a coffee mug and a poster. I almost bought a bird watching app off the iTunes store. I think I might be turning into a bird lady, hopefully not the crazy type.

Just got back from seeing Disney’s UP in digital 3D. I don’t know how Pixar does it, but again thi
s was an amazing film. The characters were truly enjoyable and instantly made you care for them. The movie allowed the audience to experience a wide range of emotions and although heart wrenching at points, the spirit and humor of the film came as an immediate relief to truly genuine scenes. I believe this was the most well written Pixar film to date. Everyone needs to see this movie.
P.S. The clouds and balloons looked so realistic. I can’t believe the can generate that kind of believability in animation!

I’ve been really obsessed with etsy.com. Here are a couple of items I wouldn’t mind owning.
1. Spike the Owl print by lindasolovic
2. Peacock Ring by daliadaliak
3. Sweet Bea Necklace by Lilluxe

I was feeling little experimental tonight so I decided to try and cook something new. I cooked the noodles with a peanut sesame sauce. Then I marinated some chicken (for me) and shrimp (for Bill) in General Tso’s sauce. I cooked some mixed vegetables and then threw everything into my wok and cooked for a few minutes. It may sound a bit weird, but believe me, it was delicious!
